Reedsafe was selected to provide our services to Fleggburgh Parish Council for their Community Electrical Appliance Safety Event on the morning of Saturday 14th February 2026. This was the first of two visits, the second on Saturday 14th March 2026. The three hour sessions were designed to enable local residents to bring along any appliances they would like to have tested for safety. During both visits we discovered many appliances with unsafe plugs and a few with unsafe cables. The plugs were replaced to make the appliances safe to use. The idea behind these events is to encourage electrical safety in the home. It is also an opportunity for residents to ask for advice on the safe use of their appliances too. The sessions were unrushed and there was time for a cup of tea and a chat with anyone who brought items along. These were very rewarding tasks to undertake.
If you are interested in holding a similar event yourself, do get in touch! A discounted half day rate may be available to qualifying organisations promoting electrical safety in the home.
